Subject: Sample Station Outline: Please Review

April 17, 2009

Hello CityLab,

Please find attached a sample outline for the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology station. Remember that the station outlines are due by the end of the Sunday preceding the week in which you will present (by 11:59:59 pm). For this week only, presenters will have until the end of Monday to send the outline.
Send all outlines to: citylabatucla@gmail.com

Instructions for station outlines

You must include props and an activity in your presentation. Remember that you will be able to use a blackboard or whiteboard. Powerpoint is not necessary, but can be an effective addition. If you decide to use powerpoint, slides should contain mostly pictures/figures with as little text as possible. Please include a rough dialogue of what you will say to the students, and please note where props will be used. If you are interested in including a video, please check the website ( www.citylabatucla.org ) for links to short (<2 minutes) videos or ask the staff.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best Regards,

Kevin Roy

April 20, 2009

Good evening CityLab,

Attached is your REQUIRED reading for Wednesday. Do not be concerned with memorizing exact numbers/volumes/amounts in the protocol under the section "Overview of the Sickle Cell Anemia Module" but understand the general set-up of the experiment. Please focus on the section entitled "Sickle Cell Anemia Background Information".

Remember, there are sometimes pop-quizzes, so make sure you read the entire manual thoroughly!

If you are confused about any of the material, don't hesitate to e-mail: citylabatucla@gmail.com .

Cheers,

Kevin
